RULES & REGULATIONS
Points for the USOP Player of the Year 2024 are an accumulation of points from each qualified Series.
The first qualified Series is USOP Danang (Part 1) 2024 from 19 Mar to 1 Apr 2024 as well as the following planned series USOP Hanoi, USOP Danang (Part 2), USOP Hanoi: Grand Finale later in the year.
** Update: The Player of the Year award will include newly announced events such as USOP Hai Phong in Sept 2024 and any later announced series till end of Mar 2025.
The recipient of the USOP Player of the Year accolade is the player who amasses the highest POS points throughout the year from the qualified events. In the event of a tie in points, a tie breaking mechanism is in place, following a specific order of priorities.
1. Most Titles: In cases of equal points, the initial tiebreaker considers the number of titles won. The player with the highest number of tournament victories during the series gains a competitive edge.
2. Most Final Tables: If a tie persists after factoring in titles, the tiebreaker shifts to the number of final tables reached. Final tables represent the conclusive phase of a poker tournament where a select few compete for top positions. This applies only to results that qualify for points.
3. Most In The Points: If a tie persists, the next tiebreaker assesses the frequency with which a player finished "in the points." This involves securing a position that entitles them to a portion of the prize pool, going beyond just making the final table.
USOP reserves the right to include other tie breaking mechanisms should the stated ones not be sufficient at its discretion. USOP will endeavor to administrate tie breakers in a fair and reasonable manner. USOP’s decision is final.
